Pelican to the rescue

So I have to blog, but what tool should come to the rescue? I decided to use Pelican a very nice static blog generator writte in Python.

You have to markup your text in reStructuredText, something I got used to when I decided to use Sphinx as a static web site generator for my web site.

Then Pelican, using nice tools such as the Jinja templating system, and the Pygments syntax highlighter, generates a set of HTML pages that, being static, can be server, or hosted, with no added complexity.

Beside, it offers a very nice integration with Disqus (try to click on the post title), Twitter, and Google Analytics.
